MYTH VS FACT: Cavities

We always come across many people trying to tell us what is right vs what is wrong. Sometimes we just believe what we are told but never really fact check what we hear.

This is an example of a myth many of us believe: The more sugar we eat, the more cavities we will get. I'm not saying that candy is super good for us, but you do not have to completely stop eating sugar because I can assure you that you will not be getting a cavity right then and there.

In fact, what really matters is how long the sugar is sitting in your teeth and if you brush your teeth or not after eating it. Even if you do not have a toothbrush near you, you should get some water to rinse some of the sugar out so it does not sit on your teeth so long.

Does this change the way you think about this myth? Let us know! #FACTCHECK #feelingaware #dentalhealth
